A number of different objects can be “collected” throughout the story.  Some make sense, some don’t but I’m waiting with bated breath to find out exactly how they will be used in the future.

Items that make sense:

* Galleons – Galleons help supplement your Griggotts account.  As you dive into potions making you’ll see that you’ll need to buy more ingredients every time you attempt to make one and fail.   That is unless you collect…

* Potion ingredients – these can be collected on the various pages and help you build your stores for your potion making adventures.  This helps keep the amount of galleons you spend on supplies down!

* Books – books such as “Quidditch through the Ages” can be found in various places and add to your library.  How we’ll use them in the future or if simply a collection game is unknown.  Books that you purchased for your shopping list will be store with these in your trunk.

* Chocolate Frog cards

* Story- related objects – you can collect a variety of objects related to the story such as  the Golden Snitch or the Winged Key.  Only a few are actually used for anything, i.e.,  Golden Snitch to move forward.

* Other objects – there are lots of other items that you can’t help but think “why am I collecting these?”  Is is just part of the adventure or will they be used for some purpose later on?
